Summary Explanation and Background:

The Brevard Humane Society (BHS), a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1952 and is the oldest established animal welfare organization in Brevard County. BHS started as a small shelter and has grown over the past 70 years to become the largest animal welfare organization in Brevard County. BHS operates its main shelter, a low-cost spay/neuter & wellness clinic, the Heavenly Paws Chapel, a pet food bank, and four Molly Mutt Thrift Shops. Their efforts have made BHS a local leader in the “no kill” movement dedicated to speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
