Fiscal Impact:
FY21/22: The Transportation Impact Fees that will be used to fund these project recommendations were collected prior to February 1st, 2022 and are currently budgeted as Reserves for Future Capital Outlay ($1,319,215). If this request is approved, $589,000 in Reserves will be re-budgeted as an intra-fund transfer to Brevard County Public Works for project administration.

Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the project funding recommendations in the amount of $589,000 as prepared by the Technical Advisory Committee for the Merritt Island/North Beaches Benefit District on February 28, 2022; and authorize the Budget Office to execute any Budget Change Requests necessary for implementation of these recommendations.

The Technical Advisory Committee for the Merritt Island/North Beaches Benefit District met on February 28, 2022 and unanimously adopted the project funding recommendations itemized below. The Technical Advisory Committee for the Merritt Island/North Beaches Benefit District consists of one representative from the City of Cape Canaveral, City of Cocoa Beach, and one from Brevard County.
Project funding Recommendations:
1. Appropriate $150,000.00 in transportation impact fees for a technical report with 30% concept for the replacement of the North Banana River Drive Bridge (70414). The span is about 18 feet with a width of about 30 feet.
2. Appropriate $150,000.00 in transportation impact fees for a technical report with 30% concept for the replacement of the North Banana River Drive Bridge (70415). The span is 19.8 feet with a width of about 24.2 feet.
3. Appropriate $85,000.00 in transportation impact fees for a technical report with 30% concept for the replacement of the Girard Boulevard Bridge (70416). The span is about 33.6 feet with a width of about 32.8 feet.
4. Appropriate $84,000.00 in transportation impact fees for a technical report with 30% concept for the replacement of the West Canal Avenue Bridge (70424). The span is about 18 feet with a width of about 30 feet.
