Summary Explanation and Background:
Pursuant to the Brevard County Charter and Code of Ordinances, the Board of County Commissioners is asked to confirm the appointment of Katherine Wall as Central Services Director effective upon approval by the Board of County Commissioners. Kathy Wall has served as Assistant to the County Manager under the direction of the County Manager since August 2019 and before that as a Special Projects Coordinator in the County Manager's Office since October 2017. In addition, Kathy previously served the citizens of Brevard County from 1985-1999 in various capacities with the Board of County Commissioners to include time as an auditor, accountant, finance manager and ultimately County Budget Director.
During her time with Brevard County Kathy has received numerous recognitions for her work, most recently supporting the County's efforts to implement provisions of the American Recovery Act, the CARES Act, FEMA, Lean Six Sigma, County Commissioner Appointed Board and Committees as well as her analysis of the use of taxpayer funds by CRA's for which she received special recognition by the Board. She has also completed the County's Employee Development Program and Executive Leadership Institute curriculums during her tenure with the County. Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rollins College and a Master's in Public Administration from UCF in addition to being a Certified Government Financial Manager and a Certified Government Auditing Professional.
