It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve permission to bid, award, and execute a preventative maintenance service contract for the kitchen and laundry equipment at the Brevard County Detention Center and authorize the County Manager to 1) execute all necessary contract(s), contract amendment(s), and extension(s) upon review and approval of the County Attorney’s Office, Risk Management and Purchasing Service and 2) execute all necessary budget change requests.

Summary Explanation and Background:
On August 3, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners granted Purchasing Services approval to perform actions regarding the list of commodities and services for Fiscal Year 2021-2022; approved the solicitation of competitive bids, quotes, and/or negotiated competitive agreements and award to the lowest responsive, responsible, and most qualified vendor(s) also known as the Bids Quotes Proposals List (BQP).
The approval of the Annual BQP included kitchen equipment services only. It has since been determined that a preventative maintenance service contract is also needed due to ongoing staffing challenges. Therefore, staff is requesting that the Board authorize permission to bid, award, and execute a preventative maintenance service contract for both kitchen and laundry equipment.
