End
Summary Explanation and Background:
Brevard County Utility Services Department operates the Port St John Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located within the Florida Power & Light (FPL) corridor. In 1989, Brevard County signed into a 5-year license agreement with FPL to provide land to install two monitoring wells required per the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Since then, license agreement renewals between FPL and Brevard County have occurred every 5 years, per Board approval. This Department has requested with FPL to make this renewal period for 10 years with an option to terminate if the wells are no longer needed.
This agreement has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office and Risk Management.
