Recommendation
It is requested the Board of County Commissioners approve and:
1) Authorize the Chair to execute the State Aid to Libraries Grant Agreement application and Certification of Hours, Free Library Service and Access to Materials
2) Authorize the Chair to execute any follow up agreements, amendments or modifications contingent upon approval of Risk Management and the County Attorney
3) Authorize the County Manager to execute any necessary budget change requests

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Brevard County Library System has received State Aid to Libraries, administered by the Department of State, Division of Library Services for many years. Attached is the application for next year’s funding. In FY 2019-2020, $432,023 in State Aid funding was received by the Brevard County Library System. The funds are used to augment library services in Brevard County Public Libraries, including providing public computer and internet access, Wi-Fi, E-books, and physical books.
Additionally, the Department of State requires the Governing body of the Brevard County Library System sign and approve the attached forms to accompany the application for State Aid:
State Form DLIS/SA02 State Aid to Libraries Grant Application.
State Form DLIS/SA04 State Aid Certification of Hours, Free Library Service and Access to Materials.

The State Aid to Libraries Grant Application with requested signatures, must be received in Tallahassee by December 1, 2020 in order to receive funds during FY 2020/2021.
