Summary Explanation and Background:
The above-mentioned project was assigned to CDM Smith Inc, under the Brevard County Utility Services Department Continuing Engineering Consultant Services request for qualifications awarded on August 31, 2022. Task Order No. 16 in the amount of $163,610.00 was to develop a deep injection well MIT plan for Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), to develop specifications related to the MIT testing and the repair of valves, improvements to the monitoring well, witness the testing performed and to submit final testing documents to the FDEP for approval. The Amendment No. 1, referenced above, is to include the MIT testing utilizing a testing firm as a sub to CDM Smith, Inc. Since the deep injection well will be off-line during the testing, we will utilize this time to also replace valves on the well and improvements to the monitoring well.
Per the FDEP, the MIT testing at Sykes Creek Regional Water Reclamation must be performed by October 29, 2024.
