If approved, $1,040,000 in Transportation Impact Fees will be utilized for the projects listed below. The Impact Fees that will fund the project recommendations have been collected in prior fiscal years and accumulate in Reserves for Capital Outlay until projects are identified and approved.

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the disbursement of $1,040,000 in transportation Impact fees in accordance with the recommendations prepared by the Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the Central Mainland Benefit District and authorize the Budget Office to execute any budget change requests necessary for implementing these appropriations.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the Central Mainland District consists of representatives from the City of Cocoa, City of Rockledge, Town of Palm Shores and Brevard County Public Works. On April 14, 2025, the committee unanimously approved the project funding recommendations on the attached project list. The recommended projects include a feasibility study with Survey and Conceptual Design at the intersection of Viera Blvd. and Murrell Rd. by Brevard County Public Works ($250,000), a feasibility study with Survey and Conceptual Design at the intersection of Wickham Rd. and Business Center Blvd. by Brevard County Public Works ($500,000), and a joint project for intersection improvements at the intersection of Pineda Street and Dixon Blvd. by Brevard County Public Works for $145,000 and the City of Cocoa for $145,000 (Totaling $290,000).
