Summary Explanation and Background:
Brevard County, with the cooperation of the Economic Development Commission of Florida's Space Coast, are preparing a request for appropriation through Congressman Mike Haridopolos for the purpose of land acquisition pertaining to siting of a regional wastewater treatment facility in the Port St John vicinity. These funds would be used to assist this Department is obtaining land needed for the replacement of the Port St John Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The request will be submitted for Congressional review and approval through the Fiscal Year 2027 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies. As required in BCC 21, any grant request with local matching funds must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
