Recommendation

Board support and adopt the Resolution proclaiming May 19, 2024, through May 25, 2024, as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. This year’s National theme for Emergency Medical Services Week is “EMS: Honoring Our Past, Forging our Future.”

Summary Explanation and Background:

The residents and visitors of Brevard County benefit daily from the knowledge, skill and judgment of paramedics, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, dispatchers, educators, administrators, emergency physicians, emergency nurses, and others who encompass the emergency medical services system. Brevard County Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Service personnel render lifesaving care to citizens of Brevard County 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

Brevard County Fire Rescue has a regional coordinated approach in providing the most efficient and effective lifesaving care, through a highly trained staff comprised of County and Municipal EMS personnel. These brave men and women dedicate their lives under stressful and unpredictable situations in order to save the lives of others.

 

Due to the benefit provided daily from the knowledge and skills of these highly trained individuals it is proper and timely to bring recognition to the value and accomplishments of such dedicated men and women.
