Fiscal Impact:

Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Disbursements to the School Board are currently budgeted at $22,840,972.00 contingent on actual collection amounts.  If approved, $4,660,639.47 will be distributed to the School Board.

Recommendation

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners authorize the disbursement of Educational Facilities Impact Fees in the amount of $4,660,639.47 to the School Board of Brevard County in accordance with the terms of the Interlocal agreement and authorize the Budget Office to execute necessary Budget Change Requests to implement this disbursement.

Summary Explanation and Background:

On January 27, 2025 the Impact Fee Advisory Committees for North and South Educational Facilitates Impact Fee Benefit District met and by unanimous vote adopted project funding recommendations by the School Board. The Impact Fee Advisory Committees consist of one representative from each of the following: the Brevard County School Board, Brevard County and each municipality within the Benefit District that has entered interlocal agreement with the County to participate in the Educational Facilities Impact Fee Program.

 

The School Board approved the funding recommendations on February 11,2025 to include the below projects.

 

South Benefit District- $4,084,098.47 for South Area Capacity

 

North Benefit District- $576,541.00 for Separate Day School
