Summary Explanation and Background:

On October 2, 2001 the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution 01-366 establishing fees for services provided to agencies and the public from the Medical Examiner’s Office, District 18.  Those fees consisted of $200.00 per hour and $50.00 for each 15-minute segment (partial hour).

On August 26, 2019 the contract for morgue use rental related to tissue procurement expired. An invitation to bid via RFP was released from the County. LionsEye Institute for Transplant and Research (LEITR) responded to the invitation to bid with a proposed rate of $275/hour and $68.75 for each additional 15 minutes of morgue time used. LEITR was aware of the previous resolution fees, but proposed the higher rates in their bid.

The language proposed in this Board Resolution reflects the new rates for morgue rental.
