Request that the Board renew delegation authority to the NRM Director for the approval of Public Interest Determinations (PIDs) for Maintenance Dredging.

Summary Explanation and Background:
Natural Resources Management Department (NRM) reviews an average of one maintenance dredging request per year. Staff requests that the Board re-approve attached Policy BCC-78, that delegates PID authority to the NRM Director for approval of maintenance dredging for existing navigational channels, existing access to water dependent shore-based facilities, and where the dredging is in the public interest. This will continue the streamlined approval process for those dredging projects that meet the required criteria. There are no substantial changes to the policy.
