The Board of County Commissioners (the Board) is requested to approve the purchase of a Fouts Brothers Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Truck for $700,000 and delegate to the County Manager approval to execute any documents necessary for this purchase.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Fire Rescue Department requests the Board’s approval to purchase an additional Fouts Brothers Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Truck for $700,000 in FY2024-25. The Department’s FY 2024-25 Adopted Budget included $3M to purchase three (3) Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Trucks. However, due to the price of the Fouts Brothers Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Truck, the Department is able to purchase four (4) Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Trucks for $2.8M, which is a savings of $200,000 from the Adopted Budget. The Department will receive all four (4) Brothers Class A Fire Engine/Pumper Trucks within 6 months after the order is placed. The Fouts Brothers Class A Fire/Pumper Trucks meet the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1901 Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus.
