Summary Explanation and Background:
On September 30, 2025, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office completed Fiscal Year 24/25 and was required to close-out twenty-four (24) FY24/25 pending and allocated purchase orders totaling $1,511,987. The purchase orders were created during the fiscal year encumbering FY24/25 funds for law enforcement capital and operational expenses, intended to be received in the same year.
These encumbrances were ordered but not received before September 30 due to continued demand, order fulfillment timelines, product availability, and shipping delays.
I am respectfully requesting the Board's approval for the reallocation of funds totaling $1,511,987 back to the Sheriff’s Office in FY25/26 to fulfill the purchase commitments on these agreements. This will provide the funding necessary for the reissued purchase orders to meet outstanding financial commitments and ensure continued operational effectiveness.
