Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners (Board):
1. Review and rank applicants;
2. Appoint the seven highest ranked science applicants;
3. Appoint the two highest ranked business, finance or real estate applicants;
4. Appoint the next highest ranked applicant in the two categories as alternate committee members.

Summary Explanation and Background:
On December 17, 2024, the Board approved staff to publicly advertise to fill all of the open positions on the Environmentally Endangered Lands Selection and Management Committee (SMC) with qualified applicants and bring the list of qualified applicants back to the Board for final ranking and appointment.
The openings were publicly advertised on January 7, 2025 for two weeks. As per the Board approved EEL Land Acquisition Manual, all submitted science applications were reviewed and initially ranked by the Qualifying Committee on February 7, 2025. The list of qualified science applicants was reviewed and confirmed by the EEL Procedures Committee on February 14, 2025 as defined by the Board Approved Land Acquisition Manual. 11 qualified science applicants and 5 business, finance, real estate applicants are now being presented for consideration to the Board for final ranking and appointment.
