Summary Explanation and Background:

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has allocated $105,806.00 in grant funding from the Emergency Management Preparedness & Assistance Trust Fund to fund emergency management activities.   The trust was established by the Florida Legislature in 1993 and is funded by surcharges on certain insurance policies.  A portion of these funds will be used to offset compensation and benefit costs for Emergency Management personnel.  The remaining funds will be utilized for operations and planning functions within Emergency management.  The funds are restricted by the grant agreement terms as to how they may be used.

Clerk to the Board Instructions:

Please provide Board Direction and 2 one sided copies of the agreement, signed by the Chair in blue ink, per FDEM requirements.
