If approved, a total of $1.7 million of Transportation Impact Fees will be utilized for the project listed below. The Impact Fees that will fund the project recommendations have been collected and accumulate in Reserves for Capital Outlay until projects are identified and approved.

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the disbursement of $1.7 million in Transportation Impact Fees in accordance with the recommendations prepared by the Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of Central Mainland Benefit District and authorize the County Manager to execute all necessary budget amendments (BCRs) necessary for implementing these appropriations.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory committee of the Central Mainland Benefit District consists of representatives from City of Cocoa, City of Rockledge and Brevard County Public Works. On July 22, 2025, the committee met and unanimously approved the project funding recommendation on the attached project list (this request is for one of the two items approved as part of the project list; the other item is expected to come to the Board for approval at a future meeting).
• Brevard County Public Works (Appropriation of $1,700,000)
o The project consists of intersection improvements at Wickham Road and Suntree Blvd. The improvements include the widening of Suntree Blvd., 1,550 linear feet, and a turn lane extension of 400 linear feet to improve traffic capacity.
