Fiscal Impact:
If approved a total of $1,800,000 in Transportation Impact Fees will be utilized for the projects listed below. The Impact Fees that will fund the project recommendations have been collected and accumulate in Reserves for Capital Outlay until projects are identified and approved.

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the disbursement of $1,800,000 in transportation impact fees in accordance with the recommendations prepare by the Transportation Impact Fees Technical Advisory Committee of the Merritt Island/North Beaches District and authorize the County Manager to execute all necessary budget amendments (BCRs) required for implementing these appropriations.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Transportation Impact fees Technical Advisory Committee of the Merritt Island/North Beaches consists of representatives from the City of Cape Canaveral, City of Cocoa Beach and Brevard County Public Works. On August 12, 2025, the committee met and unanimously approved the project funding recommendations on the attached project list.

The recommended projects include:

? Brevard County Public Works (Appropriation of $1,000,000)
o The project consists of widening S. Courtney Parkway from a two-lane segment to three lanes with a center bi-directional turn lane between Cone Rd. and Fortenberry Rd. to increase traffic capacity and safety.

? Brevard County Public Works (Appropriation of $800,000)
o This multi-disciplined project is for bridge design of the Banana River Bridge South replacement bridge. These final plans will address survey, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics analysis, structural design, roadway design, maintenance of traffic, signing, pavement marking, drainage, utilities...
