Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners authorize Brevard County Fire Rescue and County Purchasing Services to proceed with the issuance of a competitive Request for Proposals for a comprehensive Fire Rescue reporting software solution supporting Fire Reporting, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Prevention, and authorize the County Manager, or designee, to take all actions necessary to complete the solicitation process in accordance with County procurement policies and applicable law, and to award and execute the resulting contract including any subsequent renewals or amendments, subject to the review and approval of the County Attorney’s Office, Risk Management, and Purchasing Services.

Summary Explanation and Background:
Brevard County Fire Rescue utilizes electronic reporting systems for Fire Reporting, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Prevention. The current reporting vendor no longer adequately meets the Department’s operational, technical, and reporting needs The new reporting software would expand the scope of services and data needed to meet requirements. The department seeks a solution that expands the number of data fields allowing personnel to capture additional details on first response calls. Finally, it will add comprehensive data integration between department functions, allowing for more efficient operations.
