Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve Change Order No. 3 - Mims Asbestos Cement Water Main Replacement, Phase 4. It is requested that the Board authorize the County Manager to execute all contracts, contract amendments, and any contract extensions, budget change requests (BCR), change orders, and any documents or other administrative actions related to this agreement.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The original contract was awarded to DBE Management, LLC dba DBE Utility Services, in the amount of $902,210. This Change Order is necessary due to a required redesign of the project due to conflicts with utilities. As a result of the design changes, the construction cost increased due to the means, methods, and materials costs. As a result, the contract amount will increase from $902,210 to $1,295,266.39, and the contract deadline will be extended accordingly.
The original Notice to Proceed for the above-mentioned project was issued on November 9, 2023, with an effective date of November 27, 2023. The project is funded partially by ARPA, and funding approval was adopted at the September 14, 2021, Board of County Commissioners meeting.
