It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve revisions to Board Policy BCC-26, “Acquisition of Consultant Professional Services.”

Summary Explanation and Background:
In accordance with Board of County Commissioners (Board) Policy BCC-31, “Sunset Review of Programs, Services, Ordinances, Policies and Administrative Orders,” every three (3) years, Board policies are subject to review to determine their relevance, appropriate department assignment, duplicitous, and to maintain current statutory law updates. Board Policy BCC-26 was last reviewed and updated on March 21, 2023. This revision recommends several grammatical changes and allows the County Manager, in addition to the Board, to reject professional services proposals. This revision is consistent with Board Policy BCC-25, “Procurement,” Section III.O., which also states the County Manager is authorized to reject all submitted bids, requests for proposals, or requests for qualifications upon the recommendation of the department/office director and Purchasing Services.
The requested revisions have been reviewed by the County Attorney’s Office and the County Manager.
