It is requested that the BOCC approve the letter requesting technical advice and assistance from Trust for Public Land in connection with efforts to develop and sustain reliable, ongoing sources of funding for restoring the Indian River Lagoon.
Summary Explanation and Background:
A similar letter was submitted in 2016 as the County began gathering information to move forward with the SOIRL referendum. That letter is attached to this agenda item. The citizens working on the current SOIRL campaign have requested that another letter be sent requesting the same type of support for this year’s referendum. The Trust for Public Land will help gather information about the public’s priorities and attitudes toward the restoration of the Indian River Lagoon in Brevard County and provide recommendations on public funding measures and strategies to enact such measures. There is no cost to the county.
