Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners:
• Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign the Authorizing Resolution.
• Approve and authorize the Chair to execute the new Lease Agreement with the State of Florida Division of Plant Industry for the lease of office space at the UF/IFAS Extension Services, Agriculture Center in Cocoa.
• Authorize the Brevard County UF/Extension Services Director to sign any renewals and amendments not changing the term, price, or use of the leased property.

Summary Explanation and Background:
This lease agreement continues a longstanding cooperative relationship that began in 2007 with the Florida Division of Plant Industry, which leases 324 square feet of office space for three employees involved in inspecting nursery production and garden center businesses. The Division’s clients often utilize the educational resources available through UF/IFAS Extension Services.
The funds generated by the lease are included in the UF/IFAS Extension Services budget.
The lease agreement will be effective July 15, 2026, through July 14, 2031, for a term of 60 months with an option to renew the Lease for an additional one 5-year term.
