Summary Explanation and Background:
The subject property is located in Section 26, Township 24 South, Range 36 East, located south of Lucas Road, and on Ligustrum Lane at the Merritt Island Garden Apartments in Merritt Island.
Utility Services Department has identified the need to replace Lift Station M-13, which services the Merritt Island Gardens Apartments. The current lift station has been in service since 1976 and needs replacement. The County will need an additional 25' x 30' parcel for the construction of the new lift station. The current lift station will remain in service during the construction and will be removed once the new lift station is operational.
Merritt Island Garden Apartments, LLC, owner, has agreed to sell a 25' x 30' fee simple parcel, an Ingress/Egress Easement to allow access to the lift station parcel, and a Utility Easement to formalize an easement over the existing County infrastructure for a total of $15,106.00. The department has agreed to purchase the fee simple parcel and easements to facilitate the project.
The User Department approves this request.
This acquisition follows the policies and procedures as set forth in Administrative Order 37.
