Recommendation

It is requested that the Board approve the combined Fire Protection, Rescue/Emergency Services, and Vehicle Agreement with Four Communities Fire Department.

Summary Explanation and Background:

On March 9, 1978, the County adopted Ordinance No. 78-07, which authorized the execution of an agreement with local volunteer fire departments for providing fire protection and rescue/emergency services within the unincorporated areas of Brevard County.  The agreement with Four Communities Fire Department enables them to respond to calls for assistance when Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) is unavailable or in need of additional support. The volunteers serve as a vital supplement to BCFR units and play an important role in its field operations.

For clarity in internal operations, Fire Rescue has combined the existing service and vehicle agreements into one document, with no significant changes to terms.

The five (5) year agreement shall terminate on September 30, 2030.

Clerk to the Board Instructions:

Please return one (1) agreement to Janine Ernst at Brevard County Fire Rescue
