Request the Board of County Commissioners to acknowledge the winners of the 2026 4-H FPL Public Speaking winners.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Florida 4-H Public Speaking Program Powered by FPL is offered to 4th through 6th grade students throughout Brevard County. Students write and present a 2 to 3 minute speech on any given topic and compete at the classroom, school, and county levels, advancing with each win. Public speaking is an important life skill that improves students’ writing, reading, and listening skills, while providing them with a valuable tool they can utilize throughout their educational and professional careers.
Gayle Whitworth-New, 4-H Youth Development Agent, Jamison Camm, 4-H Youth Program Assistant, and Elizabeth Shephard, Director of UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County will be introducing the two county level winners who will be presenting at this meeting.
