Recommendation
It is requested that the Board schedule an executive (closed) session with the County Manager and appropriate staff to discuss ongoing collective bargaining negotiations for the Rank & File and Supervisory Agreements with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 2969. It is further requested that the executive session be held at the end of the Regular Board meeting on May 21, 2024.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The County’s negotiating team has been conducting negotiations with representatives of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 2969 Rank & File and Supervisory Units since January 12, 2024. Board input is sought by the County’s negotiation team concerning these negotiations.
Florida Statutes, Chapter §447.605 provides that, “All discussions between the chief executive officer of the public employer, or his or her representative, and the legislative body of the public employer relative to collective bargaining shall be closed and exempt from the provisions of §286.011.”
