Board discussion and consideration of request to name a pavilion at Ponce de Leon Landing, a County Park located in District 3, in honor of Sam Lopez, a local pillar of the community who died on January 11th.

Summary Explanation and Background:
On January 26th, the Board waived County policy so that a renaming of Ponce de Leon Landing, as a whole, could be considered and reviewed by the South Area Parks advisory board. Since that time, the family of Mr. Lopez has made it known that it is their preference that he be honored, instead, through the naming of a pavilion at the park. As such, it is requested that the Board consider directing staff to do so.
