Summary Explanation and Background:

The subject property is located in Section 23, Township 30 South, Range 38 East, east of Florida East Coast Railway and south of 11th street in Micco.

Natural Resources Management Department is planning the construction of an outfall pipe system to reduce the recurrence of flooding at 10th Street and Central Avenue, as part of the Micco Master Stormwater Plan, approved by the Board of County Commissioners, in special session on September 22, 2020. The acquisition of these three parcels will allow for increasing the water storage to reduce the peak stormwater flow to a downstream pond at Church Street and Central Avenue.

Fair market value was established by obtaining an appraisal report by Callaway and Price, Inc., dated February 23, 2024, with an assigned value of $200,000.00. The owner has agreed to sell for the appraised value.

The User Department approves this request.

This acquisition follows the policies and procedures as set forth in Administrative Order 37.

Clerk to the Board Instructions:

Upon execution by the Chair, Public Works Department will contact the Clerk’s office to make arrangements to pick up the original executed Contract for Sale and Purchase.
