Summary Explanation and Background:
On May 3, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved Ordinance 2022-13. Section 2-217 requires that all County Advisory Boards submit an annual written report to the Board of County Commissioners at the beginning of each fiscal year. Each Report shall be published on the consent portion of the Board of County Commissioners' regular meeting agenda. However, there has been a request by a Commissioner to discuss the Reports submitted by the Board’s advisory boards. When a request is made to discuss a consent agenda item, it is the County Manager's practice to publish it under the Board of County Commissioners’ new business on the agenda.
Ordinance 2022-13 defines Advisory Boards as boards, commissions, councils, committees, subcommittees, workgroups, or panels established by county ordinance, resolution, or state statute to which appointments are made by a Commissioner or the Board of County Commissioners.
