Fiscal Impact:

If approved, $42,874.00 of Transportation Impact Fees will be utilized for the project listed below.  The Impact Fees that will fund the project recommendation have been collected in prior fiscal years and accumulate in Reserves for Capital Outlay until projects are identified and approved.

Recommendation

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the disbursement of $42,874.00 in Transportation Impact Fees in accordance with the recommendations prepared by the Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the Central Mainland Benefit District and authorize the Budget Office to execute and budget change requests necessary for implementing these appropriations.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the Central Mainland Benefit District consists of representatives for the City of Cocoa, City of Rockledge, Town of Palm Shores and Brevard County Public Works.  On May 1, 2024, the committee met and unanimously approved the project funding recommendations as documented in the attached meeting summary.  The recommended joint project includes the costs for engineering designs (survey was previously funded and conducted) for a proposed pedestrian crossing at Dixon Boulevard and Pineda Street in the City of Cocoa.  Brevard County Public Works is to be disbursed $18,187.00 for this joint project, while the City of Cocoa will be disbursed $24,687.00, totaling $42,874.00.
