Fiscal Impact:

If approved, a total of $3,598,000.00 in Transportation Impact Fees will be utilized for projects listed below. The impact fees that will fund the project recommendations have been collected and accumulated in Reserves for Capital Outlay until projects are identified and approved.

It is requested that Board of County Commissioners consider approval of the disbursement of $3,598,000.00 in transportation impact fees in accordance with the recommendations prepared by the Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the North Mainland Benefit District and authorize the County Manager to execute all necessary budget amendments (BCRs) required for implementing these appropriations.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Transportation Impact Fee Technical Advisory Committee of the North Mainland Benefit District consists of representatives from the City of Titusville and Brevard County Public Works. On May 19, 2026, the committee met and unanimously approved the project funding recommendations on the attached project list.

 

A summary of the recommended projects is as follows:

 

                     Tangerine St. Paving - $549,000.00 improving approximately 2,151 linear feet of dirt roadway from the southernmost point of Tangerine Street to Cirtus Boulevard.

 

                     Vacaro Ave. Paving - $549,000.00 improving approximately 2,200 linear feet of dirt roadway from Tangerine Street to Kumquat Street.

 

                     Canveral Groves Blvd. at Grissom Pkwy, intersection improvements - $2.5 Million. Construction of dedicated eastbound and westbound turn lanes and replacement of existing signal strain poles with mast arms to accommodate the proposed improvements.
