It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve the appointment of three new members to the County EMS Advisory Council, as per ordinance, to serve on the Council for a two (2) year term beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2028, and to approve the reappointment of six members to the County EMS Advisory Council

Summary Explanation and Background:
Brevard County Code of Ordinances, Article III, Section 42-88 established the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Advisory Council (Council) to carry out advisory duties within the realm of emergency medical services as the Board and/or Fire Chief may delegate to the Council from time to time. The members shall serve a two-year term and consist of nine (9) members from the following representations groups:
1. The County Fire Rescue Chief or designee; and
2. One (1) representative from each of the hospital systems located in the County; and
3. One (1) representative from a private-based emergency medical educator; and
4. One (1) representative from a public-based emergency medical educator; and
5. Three (3) representatives from the Space Coast Fire Chief’s Association, representing the north, central and south county geographical areas.
