Requested Action:
Recommendation
It is requested the Board of County Commissioners approve and authorize:
1) the Chair to execute the State Aid to Libraries Grant Agreement application, and Certification of Hours, Free Library Service, and Access to Materials,
2) the County Manager to execute any follow-up agreements, amendments, or modifications contingent upon approval of Risk Management and the County Attorney,
3) the County Manager to execute all necessary budget amendments (BCRs),
4) the Brevard County Libraries Annual Plan of Service 2026.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Brevard County Library System has received State Aid to Libraries, administered by the Department of State, Division of Library Services as an eligible library entity authorized by Chapter 257, Florida Statutes. There is no match requirement. In FY 2024-2025, the Brevard County Library System received $290,810 in State Aid funding. The funds are used to augment library services in Brevard County Public Libraries, including providing public computer and internet access, Wi-Fi, E-books, and physical books.
Additionally, the Department of State requires the Governing body of the Brevard County Library System to sign and approve:
? State Form DLIS/SA02 State Aid to Libraries Grant Application.
? Certification of Hours, Free Library Service, and Access to Materials.
The State Aid to Libraries Grant Application, with the required signatures, must be received in Tallahassee by October 1, 2025, in order to receive funds during FY 2025/2026.
