Recommendation
It is requested the Board of County Commissioners authorize the Chair to execute a one-year extension to the three existing county Volunteer Fire Department agreements and authorize the County Manager to approve subsequent renewals or amendments.

Summary Explanation and Background:
On March 9, 1978, the County enacted Ordinance No. 78-07, authorizing the execution of an agreement between the County and volunteer fire departments for the provision of providing of fire protection and rescue/emergency services within unincorporated areas of Brevard County. These agreements serve as a crucial component of Brevard County Fire Rescue’s comprehensive plan to provide timely and quality first responder services. This agreement enables emergency response when BCFR is unavailable or as emergency backup if needed.
Each volunteer organization will receive $1741.81 monthly for FY’23-24. These funds will support operating and training requirements for the Brevard County Volunteer Fire Departments.
