The Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve and authorize the Chair to execute the CareerSource Brevard (CSB) Application for Subsequent Local Workforce Development Area Designation which will be transmitted to the State of Florida, Department of Economic Opportunity as required.

Summary Explanation and Background:
In Brevard County, which is LWDB 13 in the state workforce system, the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners serves as the Chief Local Elected Official.
Based on the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), LWDB’s are required to submit information to the State Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) indicating that the Chief Local Elected Official “certifies” that CareerSource Brevard (CSB) has performed successfully and sustained fiscal integrity for subsequent designation as an existing LWDB. Specifically, the document certifies that CSB has met or exceeded the adjusted levels of performance for primary indicators of performance for the last two consecutive years and the local area has not failed the same individual measure for the last two consecutive program years.
LWDB has met the performance requirements and sustained fiscal integrity for the last two years.
