It is requested the Board of County Commissioners:
1. Authorize the development, advertisement and award of a competitive solicitation seeking responses from qualified contractors to provide operation of asphalt kart racing at Space Coast Communities Sports Complex;
2. Authorize the Chair to execute the resulting contract upon County Attorney, Risk Management and Purchasing Services approval;
3. Authorize the Parks and Recreation Department Director to execute renewals and amendments upon County Attorney, Risk Management and Purchasing Services approval.

Summary Explanation and Background:
Space Coast Communities Sports Complex is a 207+ acre regional Park located off Canaveral Groves Boulevard in Sharpes. An amateur go-kart track is one of the amenities located in the Park.
The intent of this competitive solicitation is to seek responses from qualified contractors to provide an asphalt kart racing program and award to the highest qualified vendor.
Space Coast Full Throttle Speedway, Inc., a Not for Profit organization, has partnered with Brevard County Parks and Recreation since the mid-1990s to provide karting classes and oversee asphalt kart racing for participants with a ranged of skill sets from novice to stock heavy and sidewinders. Their current contract will expire in September 2022 with no renewals remaining.
The resulting contract with the contractor will be for a term of two years with the option to renew for two years and a subsequent one-year renewal.
