Summary Explanation and Background:
This is continued business from the February 8, 2022 Commission meeting. At that meeting the Board discussed consolidating Parks and Recreation Advisory Boards, where a spread sheet was provided for guidance and reference. A motion will be proposed to direct staff to draft documents rescinding the Resolutions for the four (4) Parks and Recreation Boards (Cocoa West, District 2 Merritt Island, North Brevard Commission [which will also require withdrawal since it exists under City Ordinance as well], and the South Area Advisory Board). This would dissolve three of the boards, and would allow for withdrawal from the fourth (North Brevard Commission). A newly formed and centrally located “Brevard County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board,” would stand as the only County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
