It is requested the Board approve, adopt and authorize the Chair to sign the attached amendment 1 to the FDOT Public Transportation Grant Agreement (PTGA) for AWOS Installation at Valkaria Airport and authorize all necessary budget change requests associated with this amendment.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The intent of this grant is to install a new automated weather observation system (AWOS). Which provides the following information to pilots utilizing the airport:
• Wind Speed and Direction
• Temperature and Dewpoint
• Altimeter Setting
• Cloud Heights
• Visibility
• Rain and Lightning detection
Bids were received on November 19th, 2021. The lowest bid was from Aviation Construction and Electrical, LLC for $294,910.
Because the project was initially funded based on a total cost of $215,000 the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is providing additional funding for this PTGA that increases the total allowable cost under the grant by $100,000. This additional funding is 80% funded by the FDOT and 20% funded by Valkaria Airport. The revised total project cost is outlined below:
• FDOT (80%) = $ 252,000
• Valkaria Airport (20%) = $63,000
• Total Cost = $ 315,000
All Valkaria Airport Match funds come from Airport “Charges for Services”.
No General Funds are Required for the installation of this equipment.
