Summary Explanation and Background:

On August 3, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a sale of land to FPL to construct the Duran sub-station in Viera.  Section 125.38, Florida Statutes and BCC 2-247 require a Resolution from the Board that sets out that a) the sale is to a corporation that is organized for the purpose of promoting community interest and welfare; b) the land is not needed for county purposes; c) the price fixed for the sale; d) whether or not the property shall revert to the county which shall thereafter have the right to re-enter and repossess the property. The attached Resolution meets this requirement.  FPL has requested a closing date of October 28, 2021. Passing this Resolution will enable the closing to proceed.
