Requested Action:
Recommendation
It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners: (1) accept a donation from Parrish Medical Center in the amount of $341,250 for North Area Parks and Recreation; (2) approve any advertisement and award of competitive solicitations for contractors to install additional park amenities; (3) authorize the County Manager to execute all contracts, contract amendments, and necessary contract extensions upon review and approval by the County Attorney's Office, Risk Management, and Purchasing Services; and (4) authorize the County Manager to approve all necessary budget change requests.

Summary Explanation and Background:
Parrish Medical Center has graciously donated $341,250 to partner with the Parks and Recreation Department to make improvements at City owned, County operated Blanton Park in Titusville per email confirmation on September 29, 2021 approving the improvements as shown in Attachment A.

This park is adjacent to the soon to be newly located Boys and Girls Club. County staff reached out to a Boys and Girls Club representative to obtain input regarding possible amenities that could enhance their programming. As a result, new amenities for the park are proposed such as a new age appropriate playground with shade cover, renovation/ replacement of the basketball court including new adjustable goals and workout stations along the sidewalk throughout the park.
