It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve the use of the dispute resolution process in accordance with Seminole County’s procedures and waive venue as stated in the draft contract for Dedicated Network Connection with Uniti Fiber. Request approval to give the County Manager authority to execute the contract and any amendments, extensions and renewals relating to the contract.

Summary Explanation and Background:
Seminole County has awarded a competive bid under RFP-603969-20/TLR titled Dedicated Network Connection to vendor Uniti Fiber. The circuits awarded connect Seminole County and Brevard County Article V offices supporting the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court. The contract with Unity Fiber must be a joint contract in order to provide secure connectivity. The contract increases the bandwidth from 100 MB/s to 1000 MB/s and adds an additional 1000 MB/s circuit for redundancy. Costs for the service, for Brevard County services, increase from $9,900 annually to $20,700 annually and will be funded by the Brevard County IT Department.
A Term Contract has been drafted between Seminole County, Brevard County, and Uniti Fiber and is attached. The contract was reviewed by Brevard County Attorney’s office. The dispute resolution process and venue stated in the contract requires the Board’s approval before the contract is executed.
