Recommendation

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners Approve the termination of the contract with Treasure Coast Medical Associates, Inc. (TCMAi), pursuant to Paragraph 10 of the contract; and Approve the development and advertising of a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process to solicit a new contractor; and Approve the selection and negotiation committees consisting of the following individuals: Jerry Visco, Human Resources Director; Michael Bramson, IAFF President; Deputy Chief Scott Jurgensen; Assistant Chief of Professional Development Richard Connor; and Michael Watson, Human Resources Health and Safety Officer; and Authorize the County Manager, or designee to sign all contracts and contract related documents upon review and approval by the County Attorney's Office, Risk Management, and Purchasing Services.

Summary Explanation and Background:
On May 30, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners awarded a contract to Treasure Coast Medical Associates, Inc. (TCMAi) for the provision of Annual Firefighter and New Hire Physicals in the amount of $224,500.00. The contract includes a Termination for Convenience clause at Paragraph 10, which permits the County to terminate the contract upon providing the vendor with a thirty (30) day written notice. If approved, Brevard County Fire Rescue intends to provide the written notice, and to immediately, competitively re-procure the services pursuant to a Request for Proposal.

Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) intends to go out for Request for Proposal (RFP) immediately, should the Board vote to terminate the existing contract with TCMAi.
