It is requested the Board of County Commissioners approve and authorize the County Manager to execute the Interlocal Agreement with the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization. It is further requested the County Manager approve any Budget Change Requests associated with this action.

Summary Explanation and Background:
The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (T.P.O.) is the designated metropolitan planning organization for the Palm Bay-Melbourne and Titusville urbanized area. The TPO is desirous of obtaining certain services from the County to assist the T.P.O. staff in managing the continuing, cooperative and comprehensive transportation planning process as mandated by State and Federal law. The County is desirous of obtaining certain transportation planning services from the T.P.O. to assist the County in managing its comprehensive transportation planning process.

The purpose of this Interlocal Agreement is to define the services to be provided by T.P.O. and the County and to establish the appropriate compensation, as agreed to by the parties. The County agrees to compensate the T.P.O. $60,000 annually for the services, as described in the Interlocal Agreement. The annual rate will be transferred to the T.P.O. as a lump sum payment in two installments of $30,000 each.

The term of this Agreement will become effective on October 1, 2020, or upon its filing with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Brevard County, whichever date occurs second in time, and shall extend to and include September 30, 2025.
