It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners grant permission to submit and accept the 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplement Funding Program Grant application; designate the Brevard County Sheriff’s office as the Point of Contact and authorize the Chairman to execute the necessary documents and Budget Adjustments.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program will provide funding to assist eligible states, local units of government, and tribes in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the coronavirus.  There is $177,462 allocated for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.  The funding can only be used for law enforcement programs.  The funding must be utilized to prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus.

 

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting permission for the Board to participate and accept the 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplement Funding Program Grant and to designate the Sheriff’s Office as the coordinating unit of government and authorize the execution of the necessary document and budget adjustments.
