Requested Action:

Recommendation

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve, and authorize the Chair to execute, the Emergency Management Performance Grant, COVID-19 Supplemental agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management. It is also requested that the Board authorize the County Manager or designee to submit and execute any additional changes, documents or budget actions, as well as any amendments to the grant contract, subject to approval by the County Attorney’s Office & Risk Management.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has allocated a not to exceed $30,545.84 in grant funding from the Emergency Management Performance Grant as a COVID-19 Supplemental to Brevard County. This is a reimbursable grant and its funds will be utilized to offset compensation and benefits costs for Emergency Management personnel. These funds are restricted by the grant agreement terms as to how they may be used.
