It is requested that the Board approve the purchase of one (1) Volvo A40G articulating off-road dump truck off of the Florida Sheriffs Association Bid #FSA18-VEH16.0, Specification #64 in the amount of $628,376.

Summary Explanation and Background:
This new dump truck will replace an existing six-year-old off-road dump truck (PR#429-0219) that is used in the Central Disposal Facility landfill and is vital to the daily landfill operations. This equipment is scheduled to be replaced next year, but after an examination of the truck along with a review of its maintenance history ($193,138 spent in repair parts and labor and a down time of 6,890 hours since 2014 purchase) staff recommends that this truck be replaced at this time rather than waiting until FY 2020-2021 in order to avoid any more excessive maintenance costs and down time.
