Summary Explanation and Background:
In March of 2018, the Board unanimously decided to waive Solar PV Permitting fees for a period of one year. In February 2019, after learning that this exemption had saved those installing Solar PV approximately $42,200, the Board voted 4-1 to extend the exemption for an additional year. In the intervening period, customers have saved an additional $47,800. The average saving per permit was $189.
Solar PV permits increased 4% year-over-year in 2019.
The attached resolution would extend the exemption for an additional three years.
