Requested Action:

It is requested that the Board of County Commissioners approve, and authorize the Chair to execute, the 2022-2023 Emergency Management Performance Grant Agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM).  It is also requested that the Board authorize the County Manager to submit and execute required budget change requests, documents, or other administrative actions to include amendments to the grant contract, subject to approval by the County Attorney’s Office & Risk Management.

Summary Explanation and Background:

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has allocated a not to exceed amount of $151,110.00 in grant funding from the Emergency Management Performance Grant.  Upon the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s receipt of the Federal funds, Brevard County will be provided with these funds. A portion of these funds will be utilized to offset compensation and benefits costs for Emergency Management personnel, and the remining funds will be utilized for operations and planning functions within Emergency Management.  The funds are restricted by the grant agreement terms as to how they may be used.
